Ballast

Material that is added to a racing car chassis to change the weight distribution and/or increase the overall vehicle weight to the minimum class requirement.

1. A term often used for ignition resistor. 2. A variable resister used to control the primary ignition current through the ignition coil.

Balloon Foot

A term used to describe a slow driver; one who tends to back off the throttle early.

Balloon Payment

A large payment due at the end of a loan. Using a balloon payment, the individual monthly payments can be smaller.

Band

1. A hydraulically controlled device installed in an automatic transmission around a clutch drum, used to stop or permit drum turning. 2. A manual or hydraulic device installed around a drum to provide a braking action.

Banjo Fitting

1.A round, banjo-shaped tubing connector with a hollow bolt through its center that enables a brake line to be connected to a hydraulic component at a right angle 2. Used for fuel delivery systems and other fluid couplings
