Capillary Action

The force by which liquid, in contact with a solid, is distributed between closely fitted surfaces of the joint, while being brazed or soldered.

Car Care Products

Car Cocoon

product designed to protect a vehicle during winter or other extended storage. The vehicle is driven into the cocoon, then a few moisture-absorbing packets are inserted and the whole thing is zipped shut like a large sleeping bag. The cocoon not only protects the vehicle's paint, it also keeps bugs and small animals from nesting inside or doing other damage.

Car Cover

A fabric covering that is designed to protect a vehicle's paint, trim and interior from the sun, airborne pollution, bird droppings, tree sap, sprinkler overspray, dust, dirt, etc. Some covers are designed to be used inside, while others are designed to be particularly watertight, while still allowing moisture caught under the fabric to escape. Even if a vehicle is garaged, a car cover will keep dust and fingerprints off it--and protect it from people walking or working in close proximity. Car covers are available in universal fit and custom fit models that are made for a particular vehicle. They come in a wide assortment of fabrics, typically in cream or off-white, although some companies do offer colors. A few car covers can be locked to act as a theft deterrent. Most cover the entire top and sides of a vehicle, but smaller models are available to protect only the interior of a convertible when the top is down or to cover only the cab of a pickup truck.

Car Duster

A car care product that's designed to remove a thin layer of dirt from a vehicle's paint, when it isn't dirty enough to need washing. Most dusters get better with age, so one will last for years.

Car Show

A term commonly used to describe a show where individuals show off their modified or restored vehicles. Some car shows feature new vehicles, such as sport compact cars. Others feature vintage vehicles, such as street rods, customs or musclecars. As opposed to an auto show.
