Viscous Damper

A type of crankshaft harmonic balancer that contains a liquid to control engine vibration.

A cooling fan attached to a viscous coupling.

The friction between layers of a liquid.

Viscous-Drive Fan Clutch

A belt-driven, water-pump mounted, liquid-filled or thermostatically controlled cooling fan clutch that drives the fan fast at high temperatures and slow at low temperatures.

Viscus Converter Clutch

(VCC) A torque converter clutch that uses a silicone fluid to transfer and multiply torque, the silicon absorbs shock and dampens engine vibration during clutch application.
